Oregon Senate OKs for domestic violence victim leave bill

Advocates for domestic violence victims have won a decisive victory in Oregon's 2015 legislative session.

The Oregon Senate voted 28-0 to approve legislation that will give domestic violence victims more latitude to deal with their circumstances without taking unpaid leave or risking losing their job. Senate Bill 492 now goes to the Oregon House.

Supporters say the measure will reduce the financial impact for victims who need to take leave from work. It could also help workers make the right decisions…
