Wyden seeks reforms to financial aid application norms

Oregon's senior senator wants officials to make it easier, in a sense, for students to get financial aid.

Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden called on Education Secretary Arne Duncan to use his department's authority "to improve the financial aid process, empower consumers and increase college access" by allowing students to complete Free Applications for Federal Student Aid earlier.

Said Wyden in a letter to Duncan, "Right now, many students across the country are receiving their college admissions letters…
