Gov. Kate Brown orders release of more Kitzhaber emails

Oregon's governor has begun releasing emails from her predecessor's Gmail account.

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown has released 5,000 emails, or more than 18,000 pages, from the state's archives. The emails come from an account that former Gov. John Kitzhaber used for state business during his time in office.

The move comes after several public records requests. Brown's office said workers are reviewing another 12,000 emails in the account and plan to provide more emails in the near future.
