Tim Nesbitt: PERS remains an inconvenient truth for Oregon progressives

We're now at the end of a short-lived honeymoon period for the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), which ended in a court-ordered divorce of sorts and a multi-billion tab to pay that is likely to be left on the table for Oregonians. This is the inconvenient truth for Oregon progressives at this moment, most of whom are split over whether they think PERS is a problem or whether there are any viable options left to solve it beyond passing the tab to taxpayers and school kids. But I'm in a different place on this issue, as I think the answers to these questions are yes (there's a problem) and yes (there are viable solutions).
