Senators float 70 mph speed limit idea

They can’t drive 55. Or, come to think of it, 65. A pair of Republican Oregon senators want to raise Oregon’s speed limit to, for most vehicles, 75 miles per hour on interstates. Sen. Jason Atkinson, of Central Point, and Hillsboro’s Bruce Starr hope to add the provision to a bill before the Senate’s Business, Transportation and Economic Development Committee.
