Rep. Wu yet to send official resignation letter

David Wu will not submit his resignation letter Tuesday, despite saying last week that he would resign upon the completion of the debt ceiling crisis in Congress."I honestly don't expect a letter tonight," said Erik Dorey, a spokesman for Rep. Wu.Governor Kitzhaber's office did not receive any communication Tuesday, they said, and they were checking to see if the embattled seven-term Congressman's resignation can come via email or must be regular postage.Rep. Wu came under pressure for his resignation after news of an alleged unwanted sexual act directed towards a young woman in California. The long-standing Democrat for Oregon has been in turmoil since before the February election when several staffers left, citing his strange and erratic behavior.A special election for the seat can not be set by the governor until a formal resignation letter is received.--KOIN Local 6
