New effort to establish centrist presidential campaign seeks to qualify for Oregon ballot
Americans Elect, a new group that says it wants to create a credible, bipartisan presidential ticket next year, has started gathering signatures in Oregon to qualify for the 2012 ballot. The group wants to qualify minor parties in all 50 states so that a presidential candidate selected by millions of voters over the internet could run as an alternative to the two major party nominees.
