Trade Policy Needs To Benefit Americans

From the business parks of Hillsboro to the halls of Congress, business and elected leaders are having a serious debate about trade, China and the future of emerging American industries. As a candidate for Oregon’s First Congressional District, I want to make my position clear: I say no to any trade agreement that is going to take jobs away from American workers and ship them overseas. While trade can support local jobs and expand the market for our goods, we must ensure that any agreement is first and foremost “fair” to American workers and businesses. We cannot afford to put blind faith in so-called “free” trade deals negotiated in Washington, D.C.
