Max Williams to lead Oregon Community Foundation

Max Williams, a former state legislator, will succeed Greg Chaillé as president of the Oregon Community Foundation.

The OCF board announced its decision to hire Williams, who heads the Oregon Department of Corrections, late Monday. The $1-plus billion foundation awards more than $66 million in grants and contributions to Oregon nonprofits every year.

Chaillé is formally retiring on Dec. 31 after leading the foundation as president for 24 years. Williams will start on Feb. 1.
