Kitzhaber-backed bills remain in limbo

As Oregon lawmakers ready for adjournment of the short session, a handful of bills backed by Gov. John Kitzhaber and Republicans in the House may not be cleared this session.

As the Statesman Journal reports, Kitzhaber-supported measures involving school district achievement compacts and a business plan for an electronic health care marketplace are stalled, as are Republican bills to boost timber sales and draw more water from the Columbia River.
