Help an overseas BlueOregonian vote!

Rachael Vorberg-Rugh

Today I received a federal ballot from the Democratic National Committee...but I have yet to receive my Oregon ballot, and there are only 11 days left to go! This despite mailing in my registration change before I left the US a month ago. The email I sent nearly 2 weeks ago received no response, though hopefully the one I sent this morning will. Not being one to take chances, however, I'm hoping my friends at BlueOregon can help.

If you can spare a moment, drop an e-mail to the Multnomah County Elections Division on my behalf, encouraging them to contact me immediately so I can get my ballot in time. Drop them a line through their website, http://www.mcelections.org, or call them at 503-988-3720. Please help me do more than just re-defeat Bush...I want to help defeat Measures 35, 36, and 37 while I'm at it!

Thanks for your help...I'll be thinking of you all as I watch the returns come in at the Oxford Union until 4am (right about the time Oregon's polls close).

You need to request an absentee ballot from your county elections office. Generally, absentee and overseas ballots are available 45 days before an election.

The absentee ballot request form is available at www.sos.state.or.us/elections/forms/sel111.pdf

Visit OregonVotes for more info on absentee voting.

She did request a ballot before she departed for Oxford.

Thanks everybody. I got a message from Multnomah Co. who said they'd sent me a ballot last week, so I should be getting it any time. I appreciate your help in getting a response!

Mike O'Leary reports that MultCo told him today that your ballot went out on 10/18. Also, he picked you up a fail-safe ballot and is FedEx'ing it to ya. (Apparently, he's offline but not out of cellphone range today.)
