Vote Early, Oregon!!

John Doty

It's late Saturday evening, you've lost an OT soccer match, canvassed (with great volunteers) 200+ households, been at the UNETE Candidate Forum... what are you going to do now?

I'm turning in my BALLOT! --> me at the county election office, after dark, Saturday Night

Oregon Vote-by-mail is a wonderful, convenient, "do it at the dinner table" activity and there are some huge plusses for doing it as soon as possible. County elections offices track which ballots have already come in and party GotV efforts are targetted with the help of these lists. Voting early gets you OFF the calling/contact list and frees up valuable volunteer time to motivate/persuade additional voters. There are still people on the fence particularly for the national race, but likely in some local races, too. Let the vast volunteer efforts concentrate there, rather than working on those already sure.

Ballots can be turned in at branch libraries and at county election offices, and of course, you can stamp them and never leave your home :)

Vote Early (but just once, thanks!)

Thanks for the excellent opportunity to alert folks to their closest drop sites :-)

I know in Washington County they seem to move around a lot (other than, of course, county offices), so it's always handy to know the closest one. Oregon Votes has a handy little list to help folks in their quest to find the shortest route between the kitchen table and saving a stamp.

And if you live in Medford, vote Doty!

Ahhhh, am envious of you folks! As a registered voter in Minnesota (but an Oregonian at heart!) my chance to cast my ballot is still off in the distance a bit. Wish I could do it NOW! Actually will vote absentee this year as will be in Oregon for election day to lend support to my favorite candidate (see above :)).

I'm pulling for everyone and everything (measures-wise) that is right for Oregon, with special attention and good will towards elections in southern Oregon.

I dropped off all the ballots from our household at the Multnomah County Elections headquaters this morning at 9:00 AM. I thought I'd be one of the first in the door. Man was I wrong. It was hard to find a place to park and the ballot box underneath the counter was overflowing with ballots. Even better all the cars in the parking spots had Kerry bumper stickers. My favorite read "Impeach President Cheney".
