Novak suspended from CNN

BobnovakBy now, you've probably heard that right-wing paleo-conservative Robert Novak has been suspended by CNN for swearing and walking off the set while chatting with James Carville.

If you haven't seen the video, here it is. Very funny.

    sad sad sad

Does anyone else think that was AWESOME.

    Chubby,

I think Novak has not had to fess up to his part in this drama at all, and CNN has played along. It wasn't until a well-known Democratic a$$hole pushed him hard enough that he popped that anything happened.

CNN should have forced Novak to openly address his role in this affair weeks ago. I'm pleased to see Novak finally take a little flak, but not happy that the only way it happened is that a Louisiana alligator had to bite him.

Sad commentary on the DC media star wars.

    Mr. Gronke;

I see what you're saying. However, I don't think Novak is every going to eat shit for the outing of a CIA agent. This is the best we get. I just watched the clip again. I love it when the elder stateman wannabes comes off as they actually are, petulant children.

Novak got tipped that they were going to grill him about Rove right after they finished the Katherine Harris for Senate discussion.

Carville could have said "Boo!" and Novak would have had to use it as an excuse to evade what was coming, or face the music for his traitorous actions.

Right now, the line on whether Novak was actually drunk on set (again) or whether his visible trembling and profuse sweating could be a sign of early-onset Parkinson's, is even money.

But the copy of Who's Who in America next to Carville on the table was a particularly nice touch.

Do CIA agents count as 'the troops' in the war on terror? As in, 'support the troops fighting the war on terror'. And if so, can we extrapolate that all soldiers are 'fair game' in W's political strategies?

I guess that officially makes Bob Novak "The #%@&^#!& Douchebag of Liberty."

Novak got tipped that they were going to grill him about Rove right after they finished the Katherine Harris for Senate discussion.

What tipped? The host himself told him when they were preparing the show.

The current thing being noticed (take a walk through Crooks and Liars) is that the host had a copy of Who's Who in America on the desk, where Novak could see it. Novak has been claiming he got Plame's name from the book, and so the intimation here is that the host was about to show Novak that he didn't.

    Bob, meet Karl.

    Karl, meet Bob.

You two will sharing a cell with an old friend.

    Say hi to Rush.

Signed, A poor guy who had to produce Bobby Novak at CNN. Just once, but once was more than enough (apologies to Jacqueline Susann).

What a priceless moment. I am sure the Republican noise machine is somehow spinning this incident in order to prove that the so called left wing media is out to get them. Novak is so immature. Who would imagine a grown man having such a tantrum on live television?

On review, I think John (and probably others) have an accurate and perceptive observation. Novak is drunk in this clip.

  • (Show?)

It's also come out (courtesy of a James Carville interview with Talking Points Memo) that what Carville said to him wasn't nearly as much of the catalyst for Novak's abrupt departure from set, as was what the producer, Mr. Henry, was telling him about what would be coming in the next segment. Ref. what I meant by "tipped."

Next stop: Fox, according to the punditry. As far as I'm concerned, he belongs there.

chubby, you're probably right. That's what is so frustrating. This is all we have? It's sort of lean broth, it doesn't nourish my desire to see this guy pay for his role in the affair.

I guess I don't much like the "gotcha" nature of this event or any other event. Even if it does burn a conservative. Just my opinion.

    and call me paul please.
