A new blog in town... Brading up by 5

Kari Chisholm FacebookTwitterWebsite

Political insiders are buzzing with the news of a new blog - called Inside Oregon Politics. It's totally anonymous, but the author gives this tantalizing clue: "politics is how I've made my living for over 20 years."

Whoever he (?) is has lots of trouble with spelling and grammar, curiously misspelling "Governer" just like Ron Saxton's early mailer.

No words on whether he's a Republican or a Democrat, though he sure does sound pretty cranky at the prospect that the Democrats might take back the House:

Internal polls have Karen Minnis down by 5 points with just 5 days left until the election. ...

So what does this mean? Well, besides being a huge symbolic victory for the Gay Marriage proponnents, Unions, and D Caucus forces that have targeted this seat, it has a far more practical value. Conventional wisdom says that the R's need Minnis in order to get to 31. ...

The result is going to be Blue Thunder.

Incidentally, lots of insiders have been sharing that same rumor -- that the Minnis campaign has a poll showing her down 47 to 42 to Rob Brading. That's far from a done deal, though, so get out there and work.

Of course, when an anonymous blog launches less than a week out from Election Day, well, expect some kind of bombshell dirty trick to emanate from there. Check it out: Inside Oregon Politics

It does seem like a pretty Republican leaning site -- maybe it can morph into a resume posting service in a few days.

I don't get why you would publicize a blog rightly pegged by Blue Oregon as suspiciously launched right before election day. Breathlessly and anonymously attempting to stoke the Kerry and Goldschmidt stories while offering up a few diversionary tidbits about Idaho and Walker is fairly transparent, don't you think?

Even if I'm wrong, the blog's first two major predictions are already duds. The Goldschmidt story was rejected because there was nothing new, it had been reported exhaustively, and it was inherently distrusted due to its proximity to the election. The Kerry story petered out after minimal penetration with the Republican faithful. No one else gave a damn. Who in America didn't already know Kerry was a tool?

Unless this blogger decides to make his/her identity known, I hope this is the last time this blog is flacked on Blue Oregon.

You mean it can be a new website for staffing the Iraq CPA version 2.0

The Oregon motto is "She flies with her own wings." See < href=http://www.leg.state.or.us/history/motto.htm>history of motto (Didn't Kevin Mannix once propose a change circa 1993?)

The anon author of this blog has it wrong as a sign off to his/her posts, saying "She flies ON her own wings." Silly - no one flies on wings.

Frankly, I only hang around masked people around Halloween. Other times of the year I avoid them. I want to know to whom I am talking. I will probably never again visit that blog until the person is unmasked.

This "poll" may be nothing more than a deliberate tactic to scare Minnis voters into action right up until the election...

It seems to me that the polling was "leaked" through this fake blog in an effort to get people to come out and walk for Karen Minnis. With only a few days to go and mailing in ballots no longer an option, the only way to get votes in is to go door knocking. Karen Minnis has the money to pay someone to make a fake blog but she does not have enough friends to canvas the district. This might also be an attempt to lull Barding's people into a feeling that their work is done and they don't need to go out on a nasty weekend and get a few extra ballots. To parnoid? After the crap she's pulled a fake blog is not below her. In fact, not much is below her.

Actually, we've been hearing about the 47-42 GOP poll for a few days.

Ron's crack election team hasn't corrected the Governer spelling on his home page. This is the kind of "paying attention to detail" that we need in the Gov's office.

I'm watching Minnis TV ads seemingly about every minute on cable. The Minnis campaign definitely seems desperate and off message.

    New "bolog" in town.

The author doesn't know what he's talking about.

besides being a huge symbolic victory for the Gay Marriage proponnents, Unions, and D Caucus...

As I recall, AFSCME supports Minnis. So it would be a symbolic loss for Unions.

    Bert is correct.

AFSCME, ONA, and some of the building trades unions are all supporting Minnis. Gonna suck for them when she loses, and they'll have pissed off the new Democratic leadership.

I was Just was out walking for Rob Brading. I talked to alot of indepedents holding ballots. After talking to them I got the feeling they will break to Brading. Did not see one Minnis person on the streets but I saw alot of her flyers in the recycling bins. So goes Minnis, so goes the House. Say hi to Speaker Merkley.

Why are Republicans are such lousy spellers? Independents, libertoonians, Pacific Green Party....none of them are so grammatically challenged. I mean ---- spellcheck doesn't have a liberal bias.....does it?
