Even now, Smith stands by his man McCain

John McCain's presdential campaign may be tanking - with money running out, staffers departing, and the chartered jet replaced with coach-class seating - but Senator Gordon Smith is standing by his man.
From the Deseret News in Salt Lake City:
Smith, in an interview, said McCain asked him four years ago to support him, back when Romney was still governor of Massachusetts, and Smith said he keeps his word."You will never hear me say anything bad about Mitt," he said, but "I think my support of John McCain is principled."
He said McCain has dedicated his life to serving this country, and "as president, he won't need any on-the-job training."
His support of John McCain may be principled... but what principles?

Well, I guess we know how deep Gordon Smith's commitment to ending the war in Iraq is. McCain is the craziest of the R candidates in terms of keeping the war in Iraq going indefinitely.
Bad move Smith, keep it up.

Smith's support of Walnuts may be principled and you just wait and see that relative to Iraq and everything else his continued rubber stamp support of the Village Idiot will be principled too when it's nut cutting time. Trust we don't have to take a quiz as to who the Village Idiot is?

His support of John McCain may be principled... but what principles?
Maritime principles, i think. "Women and children first" or "The captain has to go down with the ship" Something or other nautical like that.

I agree, if Smith is such a big "principaled" supporter of McCain how can he go around stating his stance on Iraq. On principals Smith is nothing but potatoes.
