Locked and Loaded for 2008.

Over at DailyKos, blogger "jgilhousen" takes note of the new and improved Loaded Orygun blog.

Last Sunday, Carla & TJ moved Loaded Orygun from its longtime home on Blogspot, completely redesigned and with a full complement of interactive features similar to those here on Daily Kos, including profiles, user-written diaries, ratings & comments, and, well, you know the drill.

That's right, anybody can create an account and blog their own diaries. Head on over to the new Loaded Orygun, from bloggers extraordinaire Carla Axtman and Mark Bunster (aka Torrid Joe), and check it out.

"Longtime home"--I guess on the internet, 18 months is an eternity. :)

New AND improved! One's a fact, the other's a subjective compliment, so thanks!

First off, I love Loaded Orygun, so please don't take this the wrong way, Carla and TJ.. but I just don't get the point of having user diaries. Am I missing something? Tons of little community sites seems like it makes for a very weak and cliqueish community. I don't know, maybe I'm just very unimpressed with the Soapblox technology. It seems to lack thought. But, I'll read Loaded Orygun even if it's delivered by carrier pigeon, so...

    ...actually, that would be awesome.

My feedback on the new site: Great content, as always. The design is overwhelming, though... multiple textures and colors, along with the dozens of links, bombard the visitor (at least that's how it feels to THIS visitor). But, I can see past a book's cover. A more simple design would make it seem more credible to a new visitor who doesn't already know that LO is cool beans. Thanks to TJ and Carla for the continued good work.
