Steve Novick on Outlook Portland
in the news 2007

On Sunday, U.S. Senate candidate Steve Novick takes his campaign to the airwaves. He'll appear on Outlook Portland with Nick Fish -- the local Sunday current events show that often beats the national shows for ratings in the Portland market.

Here's a segment that KRCW has made available as a preview.

Outlook Portland airs on Sunday morning at 6:30 a.m. on KRCW - channel 32 broadcast (or channel 3 on Comcast cable.) Set your alarm!

Discuss.

Hope there's a repeat or it will be online, as the chances of those of us out in Sunriver being up at 6:30 in the morning is slim to none. Especially after a night of hospitality events...

Yeah, in the past, Outlook Portland has sometimes posted the rest of the segments on YouTube after the show airs. Hopefully they'll do that again.

Steve looks pretty good in this clip. Can't wait to hear the answer to the question that's posed in the tease to the next segment.

This is what campaigns should be made of:
"I'm running because...."
"I support this specific legislation..."

that sort of thing. Now all the Novick supporters can say "I support Steve because he..." and drop the controversy about DSCC or who supports whom.

I know from experience that a non-endorsed candidate with enthusiastic followers talking up the candidate does better in the long run than the "elect me because I've raised money and have powerful friends" campaign.
And yes, that is a slam on Bruggere, no reflection on Jeff M.

How about a 9:00am re-telecast on PBS for the rest of Oregon?? Would KRCW please shop this program to achieve a broader state-wide telecast?

They've been saying it from the beginning--at least I have.

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. As a Novick supporter, I support Steve for a number of reasons, including his position on the Boxer/Sanders bill, his support for cutting off funding for the Iraq War without a timetable, and his take on challenging corporate interests and supporting working people.

I also think it's a problem for the DSCC to be getting involved in the primary. I don't see how one can't talk about both those topics at the same time.

Steve Novick is a veritable walking smorgasbord of reasons to support him. I don't see why any of us should be limited to just one or two.
