Meet your peeps (Updated).

Carla Axtman

Update: 3:45: Included some for Kurt Schrader. Apparently he's in West Linn and Molalla tomorrow. I only know that cuz it's on Twitter, but no details. Details from his website on other Schrader town halls this week are after the jump.

Update: 3:30PM: Included Speaker Dave Hunts town hall events.

Update: January 4, 1:45PM: A few new town halls have been added. Linn and Lane County have quite a bit of stuff on the list now. And those of you in the Cannon/Dembrow/Dingfelder districts and Sen Morse/Rep. Gelser have something too. More as it comes in.

If you've always wanted the chance to meet one or more of those elected folks that are representing you in the halls of government, this week could be your chance. Below are some scheduled town hall meetings that have hit my radar.

If you know of others that I haven't listed here, please post them in comments. I'll update this post later tonight to reflect those contributions.

Also, the Eugene Rotary Club event with Rep. Hanna is a joint appearance with Speaker Dave Hunt. Tuesday, January 5, 11:45. It is the regular Rotary meeting with the joint appearance on M 66 & 67 at 12:30 or so. Should be interesting.

Looks like Wyden is a real coward who won't face working people. All of his meetings are during the work day. He's become such an embarrassment to anybody who is an honest Democrat. What a jerk.

Oh and Schrader doesn't have a town hall in Corvallis, the bluest part of his district? What's up with that?

That's curious, "Wyden is a fraud." I went to Wyden's meeting in Washington County yesterday and there were well over 200 people there. He answered every question, and most were pretty tough questions. He wasn't calling on Democratic Party hacks for easy questions. The people who got to ask the questions were drawn randomly and many seemed like tea party types who looked like they hold down jobs.

Until Jeff Merkley got elected, Wyden and Feingold were the only two senators to even have town meetings in every county of their state each and every year. I have seen Wyden at a number of these and my conclusion is the opposite of yours - he's the real deal and far braver than the average politician. He has demonstrated that not only isn't he afraid of his constituents, he seems to relish and benefit from the interaction.

Whatever you're selling, other than a few dedicated BlueOregon cranks (how many pseudonyms do you have?), nobody's buying.

Wyden's no fraud--he's a good Democrat: taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from the health care industry and promoting one of the worst health care "reforms" around, supporting Bush-era free trade deals, defending Israel's war crimes, and so on...

One of the worst according to whom? Torridjoe? Olberman, Schulz, Klein, Cohn, Maddow, Ratigan, Weiner, Sanders and many others praised his proposals with stunning frequency.

And there isn't a member of the Congress who hasn't taken campaign money from monied interests, outside of Kohl or other self-funding billionaires. What I care about is whether he and the rest of them stand up for working people, and Wyden does that pretty consistently.
