Bravo! Trent Lutz to lead DPO

TrentlutzTrent Lutz - a key campaign staffer on the Kulongoski for Governor campaign - has been named the new Executive Director for the Democratic Party of Oregon. During the campaign, Trent led the fundraising operation and served as the campaign's director before and between campaign managers.

Lutz is currently working as a deputy legislative director for Governor Kulongoski. In 2004, Trent was the fundraising director for David Wu for Congress, and in 2002, he was deputy field director for the DPO's coordinated campaign.

From the DPO's announcement:

“Trent’s campaign experience and political savvy will push us to victory in 2008,” DPO Chair Meredith Wood Smith said. “He knows how to organize grassroots activists, communicate our Democratic accomplishments, coordinate with other Democratic leaders and hold Republicans such as Gordon Smith accountable for their right wing voting records.” ...

“I’m honored to take this position at such a hopeful and important time for Democrats,” Lutz said. “Our party’s mission is clear. We must replace U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith with a leader who will represent Oregon values, not the right wing agenda. We must restore credibility and competence to the White House and increase Democratic majorities in Salem and Washington, D.C.”
